New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu emphasised that women possess the capacity to thrive independently, face challenges, make advancements, and proudly showcase their capabilities to the world. Speaking at the ‘Asmita’ event organized by the Army Wives Welfare Association, the President underscored the paramount significance of empowering women within our nation.
She highlighted that women, as the bearers of the next generation, inherently embody tremendous determination. This indomitable spirit propels women to excel within society. With women constituting half of the nation’s population, India currently ranks as the fifth-largest economic power globally. The President expressed the collective potential to collaborate and elevate India to the forefront.
Today’s Indian women have accomplished feats across diverse domains, ranging from technological achievements in military to artistic endeavours like music. The President extended gratitude for women’s contributions and acknowledged their remarkable efforts. She advocated for a shift in perspective from the adage ‘behind every successful man there is a woman’ to the affirmation that ‘with every successful man there is a woman.’
Applauding the strength of ‘Narishakti’ (women power), the President emphasized the pivotal role played by women in steering societal and national progress forward.
