Earlier, Ramakrishnan, the father of the first accused, TR Sunilkumar, who is in jail, had demanded an inquiry into the role of former CPI(M) area secretary and former district secretariat member CK Chandran and AC Moideen MLA in the Karuvannur cooperative bank fraud. Sunilkumar, who is a devoted member of the CPI(M), was the Karuvannur bank secretary then.
Ramakrishnan strongly said that his son had only signed the files that were proposed by the governing body. Porathissery, Mapranam local committees and Iringalakuda area committee takes the decision of giving loans. Ramakrishnan had alleged that the decision was taken to give loans to applications without documents and without collateral based on party affiliation, only with the knowledge of these leaders.
