New Delhi: First phase of election is being held for 91 seats across 18 states and 2 Union territories today. The seventh and final phase of election with results will be held on 23rd of May. Polling is progressing in parts of Assam,Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Misoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Sikkim, Thelangana, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh,Utharakhand and West Bengal as well as Union territories of Andaman and Lakshadweep.
Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari,Kiren Rijiju, Mahesh Sharma, Sathyapal Singh and General V K Singh are contesting in today’s poll.
Andhra Pradesh with 25 constituencies,has the highest number of constituencies that move for polling in first phase of elections. 443 candidates from 17 constituencies are facing their polls today.U P has 8,Maharashtra 7, Utharakhand 5, Assam 5, Orissa 4 and Bihar 4 constituencies go for polls today.
