Thiruvananthapuram: The first trial run of the 2nd Vande Bharat Express to the region has been successfully completed. The high-speed train reached Kasaragod from Thiruvananthapuram in seven and a half hours.
The trial run commenced at 4:05 a.m. yesterday morning from Thiruvananthapuram after meticulous inspections were conducted on the train. The return leg of the trial journey began at 4:05 p.m. on the same day, with the train reaching Kasaragod at 11:35 p.m., emphasising its efficiency and speed.
Another crucial trial run is scheduled from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram today at 7 a.m. Following its return to the capital city, the train will make its way back to Kasargod. The Prime Minister will flag off the second Vande Bharat Express online.
The eagerly anticipated train service will connect several key cities in Kerala, including Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Shoranur, Thrissur, Ernakulam Junction, Alappuzha, and Kollam.
Authorities have revealed that the travel time from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram will take approximately 8 hours and 5 minutes, while the journey from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod will take 7 hours and 50 minutes. The new Vande Bharat Express boasts eight coaches, promising comfort and convenience for passengers.
