Rift between CPI(M) and CPI; dissident activities within CPI(M) spread to other areas in Alappuzha

Alappuzha: The dissident activities in CPI(M), which were contained in Kuttanad till now, is now spreading to other parts of Alappuzha district. Many CPI(M) activists in various areas of Alapppuzha, who are at loggerheads with the communist party leadership are getting ready to ditch the party. The CPI(M) members in places like Kanjikuzhi, Haripad, and Kayamkulam, are in touch with CPI(M) rebels in Kuttanad and the CPI leadership in the district.

It is believed that twelve members of Kayamkulam Area Committee will come out against the CPI(M) leadership soon.

The CPI(M) is taking actions against those who question the party’s authoritarian policies and its wrongs by appointing a commission. Those who stand by the party’s approach are protected. The dissidents in the party raise this as the main issue.

Those who raised severe criticisms against the CPI(M)’s state and district leadership had later joined the CPI. This is what is happening all across Alappuzha district.

However, the CPI(M) is gearing up to take action against those who raise their voice against the party leadership.

The two communist parties CPI(M) and CPI are part of the LDF government in Kerala. However, both the parties have a history of disagreements and quarrels leading to many violent altercations between cadres of the parties.
