THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to flag off nine Vande Bharat Express trains today, on September 24th. The event is set to take place at 12:30 pm and will be conducted through video conferencing.
Eleven states, including Kerala, will be receiving new Vande Bharat Express trains, marking the second addition for Kerala. The second Vande Bharat service for Kerala will operate on the Kasaragod – Thiruvananthapuram route, passing through Alappuzha.
Several leaders, including Union Minister V. Muraleedharan, will be attending the function at Kasaragod railway station. Invited guests will have the opportunity to travel on the inaugural trip.
According to a press release from the Prime Minister’s office, the states benefiting from the launch of Vande Bharat trains are Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Gujarat.
Reports indicate that the Kasaragod – Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express will operate six days a week, excluding Tuesdays. It is scheduled to complete the journey between the two cities in 8 hours and 5 minutes. The train, with the designation Train Number 20631, will depart from Kasaragod at 7 am and arrive at Thiruvananthapuram at 3:05 pm.
The Kasaragod – Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express is expected to reduce travel time by approximately three hours, covering a distance of 573 kilometers.
