Siraj’s crucial breakthrough came with the dismissal of Babar, who was aiming to play towards the third man but saw his off-stump disturbed. Babar contributed 50 runs off 58 balls, with seven boundaries. The momentum shifted further as Kuldeep Yadav trapped Saud Shakeel in front of the wicket, sending him back with just six runs to his name. In the same over, Yadav added to Pakistan’s troubles by dismissing Iftikhar Ahmed.
Pakistan, once at 156 for three, witnessed a sudden slump to 172-7. The pressure intensified as Mohammad Rizwan, who had scored a commendable 49 off 69 balls, fell to Bumrah’s bowling prowess.
The lower order of Pakistan, including Iftikar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Shaheen Afridi, and Haris Rauf, struggled to make a significant impact, contributing only single-digit runs for Pakistan.
