NEW DELHI: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is set to embark on a six-day visit to Vietnam and Singapore starting on October 15, with the aim of enhancing bilateral cooperation across various domains.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has announced that Mr. Jaishankar will begin his visit in Vietnam from October 15 to 18. The trip is focused on reviewing progress in various sectors and exploring avenues for deeper cooperation.
During his visit in Vietnam, EAM Jaishankar will co-chair the 18th Meeting of the India-Vietnam Joint Commission on Economic, Trade, Scientific, and Technological Cooperation. He will engage with members of the Indian community and unveil a bust of Mahatma Gandhi in Ho Chi Minh City.
It is also informed that a meeting is scheduled with Mr. Bui Thanh Son, Vietnam’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, reflecting the robust Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and Vietnam.
Following his Vietnam visit, Mr. Jaishankar will travel to Singapore from October 19 to 20, 2023. During this leg of his journey, the External Affairs Minister will meet with his Singaporean counterpart and engage with the country’s top leadership. He is also set to chair a regional conference of Indian Heads of Missions.
