Mumbai: The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has given its nod to include five sports in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, with cricket making its much-anticipated entry onto the Olympic stage. The final approval was granted in a meeting held in Mumbai.
The approved sports include Cricket ( which will be played in T20 format), Baseball, Flag Football, Lacosse , and Squash. Notably, both Flag football and Squash are poised to make their Olympic debuts.
The return of cricket to the Olympics, with six teams each in the men’s and women’s categories, in the T20 format, marks a momentous occasion for the sport.
