West Bengal: Mamata Banerjee and her Trinamool Congress (TMC) are trying every trick in the book to break the spirit of BJP in the last phase of elections on 19 May. Accusations have been flying around after TMC goons unleashed violence against the BJP road show led by Amit Shah.

However, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today, made a hard hitting accusation against Mamata Banerjee and her party workers. He said that TMC workers had indeed vandalized the statue of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar after clashes broke out between BJP and TMC instigated by anti social elements in Mamata Banerjee’s party.

Moreover, Narendra Modi also said that Mamata was trying to destroy the evidence to save the TMC goons responsible for violence in the city.

The Prime Minister, in an election rally in Mathurapur in West Bengal, said, “Trinamool  Congress goons spread violence, they vandalised statue of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, CCTV cameras were installed there. The way the state government erased evidences of Narada and Sarada scam, it is trying to remove evidence in the incident. I demand a strict action should be taken.”

He also said that West Bengal did not belong to Mamata and her nephew whom she is grooming up in order to continue her legacy.

The Prime Minister also said that when Mamata Banerjee was trying to bring down the communist government the constitutional bodies and central forces had ensured that fair elections take place and that if those were not there she would not have been the Chief Minister now.

The Election Commission has ordered that public campaign in West Bengal will end today at 10 pm. The decision comes after TMC instigated violent clashes in BJP road show led by Amit Shah.

During the violence, TMC activists destroyed the statue of the great Bengali reformer, Ishwar Chanra Vidyasar, situated in the premises of Vidyasagar College.

The Prime Minister as demanded strong actions against those anti-social elements in TMC for destroying the bust of the most celebrated social reformer of West Bengal.
