All thirteen Parliamentary Constituencies in Punjab to go to poll in 7th Phase of General Elections on Sunday, 19th May, 2019

New Delhi: In the State of Punjab, 13 Parliamentary Constituencies, namely Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Khadoor Sahib, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Anandpur Sahib, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Faridkot, Firozpur, Bathinda, Sangrur and Patiala will go to poll in a single phase i.e. the 7th Phase of General Elections, 2019. The polling will take place on Sunday, 19th May, 2019 from 7 AM till 6 PM. Out of the 13 PCs, 9 are for General Category while 4 PCs – Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Fatehgarh Sahib and Faridkot are reserved for Scheduled Castes. A total of 278 Candidates are contesting for the 13 PCs out of which 24 are women. The lowest number of contesting candidates are from Hoshiarpur (SC) (8 candidates) while the maximum number of candidates are contesting from Amritsar (30 candidates). A total of 23,213 polling stations have been set up in the State.

The State of Punjab has a total of 2,08,92,674 electors out of which 1,10,59,828 are male electors; 98,32,286 are female electors and 560 electors are from the third gender. The following table and Graph shows the Gender wise breakup of voters in all the PCs (as on 29th April, 2019).
