NEW DELHI: Amid the terrorist Hamas attack on Israel, Ilhan Omar, a Muslim US representative, claimed on Friday that she has been receiving an onslaught of death threats and expressed fear for her family’s safety. The Democratic Congresswoman from Minnesota had previously condemned Hamas’s attack on Israel, which led to her becoming a target for hate. Despite being critical of the Israeli government, Omar strongly condemned Hamas’ October 7 terror attack on Israel, resulting in over 1,400 casualties and more than 200 individuals missing. She decried the heinous acts publicly attributed to Hamas terrorists, including assaulting women, desecrating corpses, brutally killing children, and carrying out bomb attacks on significant structures.
Since then, Omar has received voicemails labeling her a “traitor,” a “terrorist,” and telling her to “drop dead.” Some even wished harm upon her, saying “someone would kill you and put you in hell,” while others claimed that vigilantes would poison her.
It is noteworthy that Ilhan Omar, who had previously announced a boycott of an event attended by Narendra Modi in the US, citing his actions against Muslim terrorists.
