Pathanamthitta: The woman who had come three days back to enter Sabarimala and defile the holy shrine has been asked to leave the district by Kerala police. She has left for now, however, Ayyappa devotees and Sabarimala Karma Samithi activists are on full alert and are not taking any chances.

Kerala police had first planned to take Bindhu Amini, a radical communist, to Sabarimala inspite of Ayyappa devotees protests.  She had demanded police protection to enter the holy shrine three days back.

Fortunately, Ayyappa devotees got wind of her intentions and quickly organized protests in front of Ranni police station where she went for protection. The police then transported to many secret locations to hide her where about. However, Ayyappa devotees received information of her locations and reached wherever the police took her.

At the end she was lodged in the house of an advocate in Pandalam who is a local communist leader. Ayyappa devotees also reached the advocate’s residence to protests against Bindhu’s intention to defile the holy shrine.

Kerala police, fearing a deterioration of the security situation asked Bindhu to return and leave the district as they are incapable of giving her protection against mounting opposition from the devotees.

This prompted Bindhu to accuse the police in social media for leaking information to Ayyappa devotees about her location. She was supported by a Christian lady, Liby C. S., who herself was planning to join Bindhu in a bid to enter Sabarimala. Liby also posted that Bindhu was travelling solo from Kotayam to Pathanamthitta to confuse Ayyappa devotees.

Ayyappa devotees are maintaining a high level of vigilance at Pamba and at Sabarimala temple. The Kerala government is trudging carefully in Sabarimala issue because a slew of by polls are around the corner. The government has given strict orders to the police to handle the situation carefully fearing a backlash from the Hindu community.
