ERNAKULAM: The Ernakulam POCSO court is set to pronounce the verdict tomorrow, November 4, in the case involving the kidnapping, rape, and murder of a five-year-old girl in Aluva, Kochi.
The trial for this case was completed in just 26 days.
Asfaq Alam, a native of Bihar, faces 16 charges, including abduction, rape, and murder.
The tragic incident took place on July 28, 2023, in Aluva, Ernakulam district. The trial officially commenced on October 4.
According to police records, Asfaq Alam brutally tortured and killed the 5-year-old daughter of a Bihar couple. Asfaq Alam resided near their house in Aluva and was arrested during the search for the missing child, based on CCTV footage.
