PATHANAMTHITTA: With the beginning of the Sabarimala Mandalam Pilgrimage season, the income of the KSRTC Pampa bus depot has crossed Rs 5 crores. It is reported that within the first 10 days of the season, KSRTC has collected more than Rs 5 crore.
The average daily collection stands at Rs 50 lakhs. It is reported that currently, 230 KSRTC buses arrive daily at Pamba from various places, and this number is expected to increase in the upcoming days.
The ticket fare for the Pampa– Nilakkal service is Rs 80 for AC buses and Rs 50 for non-AC buses.
KSRTC officials have mentioned that in consideration of Sabarimala devotees from Tamil Nadu, inter-state services to Coimbatore, Palani, and Tenkasi are scheduled to commence. After a three-year gap, this year, more devotees from other states are visiting Sabarimala temple.
Inaddition, fifteen inter-state buses will be allocated for Tenkasi – Pamba service. Although the Tamil Nadu state transport department has granted permission for KSRTC to provide inter-state services from Pamba to Chennai, Madurai, Theni, and Kanyakumari, KSRTC has not yet made a decision due to bus availability.
