Kollam: 27 students and two teachers from Shanmukha Vilasam Higher Secondary School , Clappana, found themselves trapped in the Achankovil forest during a nature study trip. The group was trapped in Tuvalmala area due to heavy rainfall.
The ordeal unfolded around midnight last night when the students and teachers lost their way after heavy rain engulfed the area. The group had ventured into the forest for a nature study expedition, and the inclement weather made it difficult for them to navigate their way back.
Prompt action was taken by a joint effort involving the forest department and local residents, who tirelessly searched for the individuals. The rescue operation continued throughout the night, and fortunately, all 27 students and two teachers were successfully rescued. Forest department officials confirmed that the rescued individuals are in good health, with no reported health problems.
