New Delhi: CPI General Secretary D Raja has suggested that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi reconsider his decision to contest from Wayanad and instead consider a constituency in the BJP power center. Raja expressed that this aligns with the desires of the public, emphasizing that opposition parties also wish to see Rahul challenging the BJP.
During a media interaction in New Delhi, Raja stressed the importance of mutual trust within the I.N.D.I alliance, urging the Congress to draw lessons from their electoral defeats. Furthermore, he called for equitable seat-sharing arrangements within the alliance.
The CPI(M), currently holding two seats in the Lok Sabha through the DMK alliance in Tamil Nadu, faced setbacks in the last elections in Kerala, losing all three seats contested. The party is fielding candidates in Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, and Wayanad. Notably, the CPI had previously criticized Rahul’s choice to contest from the Wayanad constituency.
