PALAKKAD: A clash took place between two police constables at the Palakkad District Police Office, leading to the suspension of the two involved in the incident.
According to police reports, Civil Police Officers (CPO) Dhanesh and Dinesh from the Special Branch Office engaged in a physical dispute following an argument over personal matters.
District Police Chief R Anand stated that both individuals were suspended due to their intemperate behaviour, and an investigation has been initiated. Further actions will be determined based on the investigation report.
The incident occurred yesterday afternoon when the two policemen attacked each other, resulting in injuries that required immediate first aid. The fight took place in the records room, and other police present at the office intervened to separate them.
Initial allegations suggested that the police were at first reluctant to file a case even though the two policemen were accused of stabbing each other. However, the police claimed that the fight only involved physical assault between the two policemen.
District Police Chief Mr. Anand refused reports of stabbing, stating, “There was no stabbing; it was a false report. The incident involved physical altercation. Both were suspended for their intemperate behaviour.”
