THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Mizoram Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan has condemned the act of halting and attacking Kerala state Governor on the roads, terming it ‘an insult to democratic society.’ Kummanam Rajasekharan’s comments came in response to yesterday’s attack by SFI members on Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan’s car in Thiruvananthapuram.

Kummanam Rajasekharan emphasized that Governor Arif Mohammed Khan is only fulfilling his constitutional responsibilities. He accused SFI activists of protesting against any duties unfavorable to the SFI, displaying unwavering favoritism.

Moreover, Kummanam Rajasekharan alleged that the violence carried by the SFI against the Governor on Monday night in Thiruvananthapuram is instigated by the CPI(M). He characterized this incident as a warning, illustrating the CPI(M) party’s stubbornness and pressure tactics to control the Governor. He stressed the seriousness of the violence against the Governor, emphasizing the need for it to be addressed accordingly.

Expressing concern over the state’s law and order situation, Rajasekharan highlighted the lack of freedom of movement even for the Governor in Kerala. He criticized the allocation of the entire police force in the state for the protection of Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan and his extravagant ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ campaign.

Kummanam Rajasekharan pointed out that such incidents of violence only take place in Kerala, attributing them to the ruling CPI(M).
