Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning, predicting the likelihood of heavy rainfall today. The warning includes the possibility of strong winds ranging from 30 to 40 km per hour, with thunder and lightning.
In addition to the IMD’s warning, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Centre has issued an alert about the possibility of high waves and storm surges along the Kerala coast until 5:30 p.m. today. Fishermen and coastal residents are urged to exercise caution during this period. However, there is no disruption to fishing activities along the Kerala, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep coasts. To enhance safety measures, the Centre for Ocean Research advises coastal residents to stay away from danger areas, following the instructions of authorities.
