Ayyappa devotees stage protest against police for denying entry pass to Sannidhanam

Pathanamthitta: Ayyappa devotees protested against police in Sathram at Vandiperiyar. The devotees’ protest stemmed from the police’s refusal to issue them passes for the forest route leading to Sannidhanam.

As the protest intensified, the police eventually relented, permitting the devotees to proceed to Sannidhanam without requiring a pass. Meanwhile, there has been a noticeable surge in the number of pilgrims flocking to Sabarimala. Today, 21,000 devotees successfully attained Darshan between 1 am and 6 am and an additional 90,000 having booked slots through the virtual queue for Darshan today.

This follows a trend observed yesterday, where a marked increase in devotees was reported. The crowd in Pamba has prompted many devotees to opt for the Pullumedu forest route to reach Sannidhanam.
