Complaint filed against Rahul Gandhi for tweet making fun of Yoga Day

New Delhi: An advocate has filed a police complaint against Congress President, Rahul Gandhi, for tweeting a picture of Army dogs in a yogic position with their trainers on Yoga Day and captioning it ‘New India’. The complainant says that Rahul Gandhi has done public mischief with an intention to disrespect the Army and the International Yoga Day.

Advocate Atal B Dubey has filed his complaint under under Section 124A and 505(2) of the IPC. He said that the Congress President hurt the sentiments of people across the world by his tweet.

In the complaint, Dubey says, ” “I say that, Shri Gandhi posted a mischievous post intended to upset the public tranquility. I say that, by putting such type of circulation with intention to disrespect our Army is a clear-cut offence and Shri Rahul Gandhi needs to be prosecuted as per law.”

Rahul Gandhi’s tweet did not go down well with Indians who felt proud that the ancient Indian practice of Yoga was being celebrated across the world. The Gandhi scion found himself cornered by his poor sense of humour and had to face the irk of the people just after a humiliating defeat in Lok Sabha election.

The BJP National President, Amit Shah, termed Rahul’s action as the negativity of the Congress party. Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, said that the Army dogs are proud members of the military and contribute to the safety of the nation.

The harshest comment,  however, came from actor Paresh Rawal. He tweeted, “Yes it’s a NEW INDIA Rahul ji where even dogs are smarter than you.”
