Thrissur: CPI(M) leader and convener of Left Democratic Front of Kerala, EP Jayarajan, mocked a differently abled person for protesting against the Chief Minister. The communist leader was responding to the recent protests by Congress activists against the CM’s Nava Kerala Sadas.
While responding, EP Jayarajan, asked if it is possible for the police to check if someone has hands or legs when beating with lathis. He also mocked the differently abled person asking if it was the job of that person to carry a flag and go and protest in front of the CM’s vehicle.
He asked if it was right on the part of the Congress to sent a person, who cannot walk, in front of the CM’s vehicle.
Jayarajan’s insensitive words are seen as highly offending to differently abled people, who are carrying on their lives with dignity and on par with any other individual. Instead of condemning the brutality of the police against protesters and especially against a differently abled person, the communist leader kept justifying the act.
