Congress attempts to insult PM Modi over his caste? Tries to sprinkle cow dung water at the venue where PM addressed Sthree Shakti Sangamam

Thrissur: The BJP workers and Congress members came to blows at Thrissur after Congress leaders tried to sprinkle cow dung water at the venue where Prime Minister Modi’s addressed the Sthree Shakti Sangamam event yesterday. The Youth Congress workers attempted to create trouble by approaching the stage under demolition. However, BJP workers intervened, preventing the protestors from reaching the stage. Subsequently, the police arrived and took measures to control both groups.

The attempt to sprinkle cow dung water by Congress is seen as a bid to insult the PM based on his caste by the Congress. Sprinkling of cow dung water is a symbolic representation of purification and was used during the dark days of caste oppression in Kerala. High caste members used to wash the area, where people of lower caste entered, with cow dung water. This type of act has been reported in some parts of Kerala even in the recent past to insult people of lower castes.

KK Aneeshkumar, BJP Thrissur District President, alleged that Congress workers were aided by the police to encroach upon the venue where the Prime Minister’s programme took place. Aneeshkumar claimed that when the Youth Congress workers entered the area, the police took no action, suggesting a bias. He further accused the police of creating an opportunity for the Youth Congress members to instigate conflict.

Aneeshkumar pointed fingers at Congress MP TN Prathapan, accusing him of sending Youth Congress workers to protest at the stage where the Prime Minister was present. The BJP workers claimed that KSU (Kerala Students Union) attempted to sprinkle cow dung water on the venue where Modi was present. Aneeshkumar told the MP to be mindful of the consequences and avoid inviting danger through acts of provocation.
