THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the wake of that, several prominent personalities openly expressed their support for Bharath and ‘strongly condemned’ the derogatory remarks made by Maldives Ministers regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s social media post on Lakshadweep. Reports and social media assertions indicate that many have cancelled planned trips to the Maldives soon after the Maldives Ministers’ remarks against PM Modi.
Several film actors also condemned Maldives over the issue. However, BJP Kerala state President K Surendran stated that in this situation, a certain group of actors not responding to the issue is unfair.
K Surendran questioned why those who had raised their voices against Praful Patel, the Lakshadweep Administrator, for reforms aimed at national development, are now not responding to the unfair statement made by Maldives. This, according to him, seems unfair. K Surendran also used harsh language against the film actors who have not responded, suggesting they might have connections to China.
Surendran responded this through a Facebook post on his social media account.
In the post, he mentioned that the strong criticism made earlier by a certain group of film actors for opposing Praful Patel’s reforms in Lakshadweep could possibly explain their silence over the derogatory statements by Maldives Ministers. He questioned whether they have any connections with China.
