Mumbai: A Malayali youth was found dead in Mumbai. Rahul Raj (21), a native of Parassala, Thiruvananthapuram, was discovered dead in his rented room near Belapur, Mumbai. Rahul had traveled to Mumbai for a job interview on a ship, but it is suspected that he took his own life due to falling victim to employment fraud.
According to reports, Rahul had paid Rs 5 lakh to an agent from Thiruvananthapuram, who promised him a job opportunity. He arrived in Mumbai on Monday evening and reportedly spoke with his family that night. The next day, his lifeless body was found in his rented room.
The body has been placed at the government hospital in Vashi, Navi Mumbai. Laiji Varghese, a social activist from Navi Mumbai, is providing assistance and mentioned that the body will be handed over to the relatives after the completion of the post-mortem, scheduled for today.
