Alappuzha: Police to evaluate the mental state of 15 Popular Front of India (PFI) terrorists accused in the case of murder of OBC Morcha State Secretary Adv Ranjith Srinivasan. The action is as per the court order. The accused were brought to the Alappuzha Medical College Hospital for a mental examination. A mental test is conducted before sentencing the accused.

On the 20th, Mavelikkara Additional Sessions Judge VG Sridevi had ruled that all 15 persons in the first charge sheet were guilty. Special Prosecutor Pratap G Padikkal raised the argument before the court that maximum punishment should be given to all the accused. But the defense argued that the case is not rare.

The court had adjourned the case to the 25th of this month for hearing all the accused in person. After considering the mental health report, the sentence will be pronounced on January 25th .
