Alappuzha: Ranjith Sreenivasan’s family expressed satisfaction with the court verdict. His wife mentioned that although the loss was great, she was relieved by the court’s decision. It has been 760 days since his passing, and they emphasized that it cannot be written off as just a murder.

“He was in such a state that it was not possible for last rites. Myself, his mother, his brother, and his children witnessed it. Rather than just a murder, this is an extremely rare case,” Ranjith’s wife told the media. The family thanked the investigation team and the prosecution for finding the truth and informing the court. Ranjith Srinivasan’s mother’s response was that the court had saved them.

On December 19, 2021, Ranjith Sreenivasan, a lawyer and the state secretary of the OBC Morcha, was brutally murdered in his house. The Mavelikkara Additional Sessions Court sentenced all 15 accused PFI activists in the case to death. The accused include Nawaz, Shamir, Naseer, Zakir Hussain, Shaji Poovathinkal, Shernaz Ashraf, Nizam, Ajmal, Anoop, Muhammad Aslam, Salam Ponnad, Abdul Kalam, Safaruddin, Munshad, and Jaseeb Raja.
