Thiruvananthapuram: Governor Arif Mohammed Khan’s personal security is entrusted to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). This decision was formalised through agreements made during a security review meeting held at Raj Bhavan today, where arrangements related to the Governor’s security were discussed. Security will be provided jointly by the police and the CRPF.
Under the new arrangement, CRPF personnel will be stationed in the front and rear vehicles during all of the Governor’s journeys. The CRPF will extend security coverage inside Raj Bhavan, while police personnel will be stationed at the entrance. The police will determine the governor’s travel route and continue to implement additional security measures.
This change follows a recent order issued by the central government to the state government delegating the CRPF for the security of the Governor and Raj Bhavan. The CRPF’s Z Plus security will be provided to Governor Arif Mohammed Khan.
The central government’s intervention in enhancing security measures comes in the wake of an incident where SFI (Students’ Federation of India) goons attacked Governor Arif Mohammed Khan in Nilamel, Kollam.
