Hyderabad: Just a few minutes before 2.51 am launch of India’s second lunar mission “Chandrayaan 2” was called off by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) due to a technical snag.
The Indian Space Research Organisation made the announcement on Twitter, “A technical snag was observed in launch vehicle system at 1 hour before the launch. As a measure of abundant precaution, #Chandrayaan2 launch has been called off for today. Revised launch date will be announced later.”

The country’s second lunar spacecraft was to be launched onboard a Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) Mk -III from Satish Dhwan Space Centre at Sriharikota in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh at 2.51 am.
The Rs 1000-crore mission involves an orbiter around the Moon, a lander (Vikram) and a rover (Pragyan).
Till now, it is not sure whether the launch will be resumed in coming days till ISRO finds out the exact reason for the technical snag in the vehicle system, which will certainly take time.
