PM Modi launches scathing attack on Congress in Rajya Sabha, says Congress destroyed BR Ambedkar’s ideas

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a scathing critique of the Congress party during his address in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. In his remarks, PM Modi accused the Congress of undermining the ideas of BR Ambedkar, particularly regarding reservations.

Highlighting the Congress’s historical reluctance to promote greater participation of Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC), PM Modi asserted that the party had consistently worked against the vision of Baba Saheb. He emphasized that it was under the BJP-led government’s tenure that Ambedkar was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna. Additionally, PM Modi noted the historic milestone of appointing an Adivasi daughter as the President of Bharat under the NDA government.

PM Modi also underscored the achievements of his government, citing the transformation of India from the “fragile five” to one of the “top five” economies. He questioned the reasons behind the nation’s dissatisfaction during the Congress’s ten-year rule, attributing it to the party’s own actions rather than those of his government.

Refuting allegations of privatization and mismanagement, PM Modi challenged the Congress’s accountability for the decline of public sector units (PSUs) like BSNL and MTNL, as well as the state of organizations like HAL and Air India during their rule. He highlighted the turnaround of BSNL, HAL’s record revenue generation, and the success of LIC’s shares under his government’s leadership.
