Thiruvananthapuram: The official SIM cards of Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) officials are now activated again following the settlement of outstanding bills. The service, previously disrupted due to unpaid dues, has been restored after the MVD cleared its arrears with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
BSNL has temporarily suspended outgoing calls for MVD officials since the 8th of this month due to unpaid bills. The situation escalated when BSNL warned to suspend incoming calls as well. This problem comes amidst ongoing challenges in the Motor Vehicle Department, including a printing crisis affecting the distribution of licences and RC books. The MVD took action immediately upon learning that the incident had become news, swiftly settling the outstanding bill. Consequently, normal BSNL services have been restored.
