New Delhi: Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh said that the Government would have regular interaction with the armed forces veterans and work with complete dedication on their issues.

Speaking at an event on Kargil Vijay Diwas organised by the ‘Veterans India’, an organisation led by ex-servicemen, Rajnath Singh said “I will work for you,  and I am sure we will succeed”.

Raksha Mantri heaped praise on the valour, fighting and sacrificial spirit of the Indian soldiers during the Kargil War as also in the earlier wars.

Referring to his visit to Dras on July 20, 2019 and  recalling the stories of immense courage and ultimate sacrifices made by the valiant soldiers during the Kargil war, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh said our soldiers had fought against all odds, in the face of enemy fire from the heights, to re-take one peak after another. They didn’t know what is fear and hugged death in the service of the country, he said. The nation bows in honour of its brave sons, he added.

Raksha Mantri said his visit to Siachen soon after assuming office signalled that the Indian soldier would remain at the centre of decision making process.

After the Balakot strikes, the country’s pride and confidence in its armed forces has increased, he said.

Raksha Mantri felicitated family members of some martyred soldiers at the event.

Patron, Veterans India Maj Gen Retd G D Bakshi, National President, Veterans India BK Mishra and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
