Kannur: BJP Kerala State President K Surendran stated that despite the central government’s efforts for Kerala’s development, the Kerala state government is spreading false information claiming neglect by the Central government. He made these remarks while addressing the media in Kannur.

Surendran added that people are now recognizing the misinformation campaign led by Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan and State Finance Minister KN Balagopal, as evidenced by the Supreme Court’s involvement. He was referring to the Supreme Court’s recent judgment on the Kerala government’s plea against the Central government’s imposition of the state’s borrowing limit.

He highlighted the incident where the Kerala government approached the Supreme Court seeking the removal of the Central government’s imposed ceiling on the net borrowing limit of the Kerala government. However, the Kerala state government did not receive a favourable response from the Supreme Court. But the Supreme Court suggested that the state government find a solution through discussions with the Central government. But the state government launched a baseless political campaign against the Central government.

Surendran accused the Pinarayi government of the price hike of essential commodities in Kerala. Yet, even in this situation, the Kerala government criticized the Central government’s Bharat Rice sale initiative aimed at reducing price surges, he added. Surendran also criticized the government for increasing prices in Supplyco.

Surendran also criticized the Kerala government for not taking action to address the issues faced by the people of Wayanad due to wildlife attacks. He blamed CM Pinarayi Vijayan and AK Saseendran, Kerala State Minister for Forest and Wildlife, for their handling of the incidents of wildlife attacks on Wayanad locals.

Surendran further highlighted the inadequacy of staff, communication facilities, and other facilities in the Kerala state forest department, attributing these shortcomings to the state government’s administrative failure. He then remarked that Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan lacks time for public administration, as he is occupied with defending his daughter Veena Vijayan in her monthly payment scam case.
