Wayanad: Union Forest and Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav will visit the family members of those killed in the wildlife attack in Wayanad today. The minister is expected to arrive around 6:30 pm.
As the wildlife attack continues in Wayanad, BJP State President K Surendran has approached the Union Minister, demanding that the state government’s incompetence is the cause of the loss of precious lives in such attacks, and the Centre should intervene to resolve the crisis. The minister’s visit follows this demand.
Severely criticizing the state government, K Surendran openly stated that the state ministers are lagging behind by 25 years. Surendran also accused the government of not taking effective measures to deal with wildlife attacks and lacking innovative systems.
Meanwhile, the mission to tranquilize Belur Makhna, the killer elephant, is entering its 11th day. There has been no progress in the mission for 48 hours. Yesterday, the elephant unexpectedly arrived in the Pulpally area. The Forest Department has informed that monitoring by radio collar is continuing.
