Thiruvananthapuram: Even three days after the two-year-old girl from Pettah was found in Kochuveli, the police have yet to conclude how she reached there. Investigations are ongoing regarding how the child reached near the drainage ditch at Pettah railway station. The police investigation team suspects that someone either abandoned the child near Pettah or that she wandered there alone.
However, the child’s family rejects the police assumptions. They claim the child has never gone to Pettah railway station alone, from where she was found after being missing for 20 hours. They assert they do not suspect any particular person and believe no one from their group is responsible for the incident.
On the other hand, the police mention they only obtained leads about the accused from the day the child was found. The child’s health condition at SAT Hospital is reported to be satisfactory. However, it has been decided to keep her in the hospital for a week for medical observation.
According to police reports, the two-year-old girl, the daughter of a nomadic couple – Amardeep and Rabina Devi from Bihar, went missing from Pettah, Thiruvananthapuram yesterday morning, around 1:00 AM. Following a 20-hour search, the child was found last night at 7:30 PM near a drainage ditch in Kochuveli.
