9th standard girl who went missing from Pathanamthitta district has returned; kidnappers arrested

Pathanamthitta: The 9th standard schoolgirl who went missing from Thiruvalla, Pathanamthitta district on Thursday has returned this morning. She appeared at the Tiruvalla Police Station around 4 am today.

Police have reported that they arrested Athul and Akhil, natives of Thrissur, who kidnapped the girl. The accused were arrested later after dropping the girl at the police station and attempting to escape.

Athul was arrested while traveling on a KSRTC bus in Muvattupuzha, and Akhil was arrested in Puthanpeedika, Anthikad of Thrissur, this morning around 7:30 am.

The accused will be brought to the Tiruvalla Police Station by today afternoon for further investigation.

According to police records, the 9th standard schoolgirl went for examination on Thursday and did not return home. Following this, her parents filed a complaint with the police.
