Thiruvananthapuram: A high-temperature warning has been issued for eight districts in Kerala due to the sweltering conditions. A yellow alert has been issued for Kollam, Alappuzha, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, and Palakkad districts.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has cautioned that temperatures may soar, two to four degrees above normal. Palakkad recorded the highest temperature at 38 degrees Celsius, followed by 37 degrees Celsius in Kollam, Alappuzha, Kozhikode, and Kannur districts. Meanwhile, Kottayam, Ernakulam, and Thrissur districts experienced temperatures reaching 36 degrees Celsius.
Authorities have advised avoiding exposure to direct sunlight between 11 am and 3 pm and urged the public to adhere to precautionary measures issued by the Disaster Management Authority to mitigate the risk of sunstroke.
