Thiruvananthapuram: The Centre government has extended a helping hand by allocating Rs. 4,000 crore to the state. This allocation comes as a respite for Kerala, which has been grappling with a mounting financial burden. This financial assistance comes as temporary relief for the state amidst its severe economic crisis.
Out of the total sum, Rs. 2,236 crore has been disbursed to Kerala as its tax share and Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) share by the centre. The state treasury has been recovered from overdraft after receiving Rs. 4,000 crore from the central government.
The timely financial help from the centre holds particular significance as it enables Kerala to meet its obligations, including the payment of salaries and pensions for government employees this year.
