Wayanad: SFI filed a fake complaint against Siddharth even after Siddharth’s death. Siddharth, a second-year BVSc (Bachelor of Veterinary Science) student, was found dead on February 18 at the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University campus in Pookode, Wayanad district following attacks and insults from SFI leaders in the college.
According to reports, on February 18, the college authorities received a complaint against Siddharth for allegedly misbehaving with a female veterinary student. On the 19th, the authorities accepted the complaint, and on February 20, they forwarded it to the Internal Complaints Committee of the college. Reports indicate that the complaint filed against Siddharth by the other female veterinary student of the college is fabricated.
It is reported that Siddharth was subjected to a mob trial, beaten, and insulted by SFI leaders following allegations of misconduct towards a female veterinary student. This incident of insulting led him to commit suicide, the Internal Complaints Committee of the Veterinary College said.
However, the Committee failed to issue a notice to Siddharth in connection with the complaint against him from the female student. It seems that the approaches from the SFI leaders are now aimed at polishing and justifying the actions of the accused.
It is also noteworthy that DYFI members had installed a flex mentioning that Siddharth was an active SFI member in front of Siddharth’s house in Nedumnagad, Thiruvananthapuram. Meanwhile, T Jayaprakash has come forward saying that his son was not politically active as far as he knew.
However, BJP and ABVP staged several protests across the country in connection with SFI’s attacks against Siddharth. SFI faced criticism from several corners for its routinely used wanton violence, social shaming, public trials, smear campaigns and inquisitorial methods on college campuses .
