Thiruvananthapuram: CR Praphul Krishnan, the President of Kerala State Yuva Morcha, said that Kerala is becoming a land of unemployed youth. He questioned the validity of Kerala PSC examinations.
Praphul Krishnan said that so many educated youngsters remain unemployed in Kerala due to the inefficiency of the Kerala state government. He added that more than 3 crore applications are pending at the Kerala PSC headquarters.
Praphul Krishnan was addressing the protest conducted by the All Kerala Police Constable Rank Holders, who have been protesting in front of Thiruvananthapuram Secretariat for more than 20 days.
Since only a few days are left for the expiry of the PSC rank list, the rank holders staged the protest against the Kerala government to take immediate action. Thousands, including the elderly parents of the candidates and their young children, blocked the road for eight hours. Praphul Krishnan was addressing this protest.
Praphul Krishnan said that the protest at Thiruvananthapuram was staged by the deserving candidates and are not like SFI leaders Shivranjit and Nizam, who got top ranks in the police rank list through malpractice and favouritism. He added that the protesting candidates are deserving people who worked hard with the aim of getting a job.
Kerala government had quashed the published SI rank list the other day. When the candidates pointed this out, the PSC also quashed the rank list for Kerala police constables. This greatly disappointed the hopeful candidates. In such a situation, Praphul Krishnan angrily questioned the need for conducting PSC examinations by the Kerala government
