New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will take over the ‘The Rameshwaram Cafe’ blast case. The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has informed about the decision to hand over the ‘The Rameshwaram Cafe’ blast case to the NIA. There were already indications that the case would be handed over to the National Investigation Agency.

On March 1, the incident occurred at the cafe in Brookefield, Bengaluru. In the bomb blast, nine people, including the eatery staff and customers, were injured.

Based on CCTV video footage, a bag containing the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was placed inside the cafe by a young man around the age of 30, wearing a cap and a mask, who is the prime suspect in the case. The possibility of a terrorist attack in the blast is also being investigated, as the explosion was similar to the cooker bomb blast that took place in Mangalore in November 2022.
