Thiruvananthapuram: The new Vice Chancellor (VC) of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU) visited the house of Siddharth, at Nedumangad, Thiruvananthapuram. The new VC Dr. PC Saseendran returned after assuring Siddharth’s parents a thorough investigation into the incident. Siddharth, the second-year Bachelor of Veterinary Science student, was found dead in the college hostel of University campus in Pookode, Wayanad district.

The VC said all the matters related to the case will be examined in detail and whoever is at fault in the incident will be brought to justice. The VC also told the family that the dean would explain the lapse on the part of the University.

The previous Vice-Chancellor of the Veterinary University, Dr. MR Saseendranath, was suspended for negligence in taking action on Siddharth’s death. He was suspended by Governor Arif Mohammed Khan who is also the Chancellor of the University. Following this, former professor of the University, Dr. PC Saseendran was given charge to exercise the powers and perform the duties of the Vice Chancellor.

Meanwhile, crucial evidence has been found in the case of Siddharth’s death during the evidence collection of Sinjo Johnson, the main suspect in the case. The collection of evidence took place inside the room number 21 of the hostel and in the courtyard of the hostel building. It was here that Siddharth was brutally assaulted. The investigation team recovered all the weapons used for attacking Siddharth from the hostel room along with the rope and shoe used in the assault.
