Siddharth, a second-year Bachelor of Veterinary Science student, was found dead in the hostel of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University campus in Pookode, Wayanad district. According to post-mortem report Siddharth was starved for three days and had many severe injuries on his body. Though many including SFI leaders behind assaulting Siddharth have been arrested, there have been demands for a CBI enquiry into the case from all quarters.

The ABVP have been staging protests across the country demanding Justice for Siddharth. They had conducted a 24-hr hunger strike in front of the Secretariat, Thiruvananthapuram two days back. This long march that is going to take place tomorrow is to put more pressure on the government for a fair investigation on the death of Siddharth through a CBI investigation.
