Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala University Vice-Chancellor has ordered the suspension of the Kerala University Arts Festival amid controversies and clashes. Following numerous complaints, Vice-Chancellor Mohanan Kunnummal has directed the cancellation of competitions and result announcements. Several complaints were raised concerning competitions such as “Margam Kali” and “Thiruvathira Kali,” prompting the decision to halt competitions where conflicts emerged after result announcements.
The decision extends to discontinuing the ongoing five-day-long Kerala University Youth Festival. Vice-Chancellor Mohanan Kunnummal has mandated the cancellation of remaining competitions scheduled for today, the final day, and instructed that the results of the suspended matches not be disclosed. Also, there will be no closing ceremony today, and the proposal has sparked protests among many students.
