Malappuram : Vigilance arrested a village extension officer from Edavanna in Malappuram while accepting bribe from SC / STs including forest dwellers. Edavanna VEO Krishnadas has been taken into custody by Vigilance DySP Ramachandran and his team.
He had demanded Rs 3,000 from the Life Housing Project for SC / ST families. He was arrested on a complaint by a resident of Edavanna. He is also accused of borrowing money from several people.
Krishnadas demanded people that Rs 75,000 will be passed only after he is given Rs 3000. The vigilance recovered Rs 3,000 as bribe. He will be produced before the Kozhikode Vigilance Court.
