Lucknow: Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahali, Chairperson of the Islamic Centre of India (ICI) and member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, urged people to avoid and refrain from spreading rumours related to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). He emphasized that ‘responsible’ persons have assured that no one’s citizenship will be revoked. He appealed to everyone to maintain peace and tranquility without succumbing to panic.

Addressing the proliferation of false propaganda following the Central government’s notification regarding the CAA, Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahali stated that comments will only be made by their legal committee after thorough study of the notification.

Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahali stressed that only those responsible for issuing the CAA notification are authorized to speak on the matter. Furthermore, he urged people to abstain from making baseless statements or sharing sensitive content on social media, which could exacerbate tensions.

Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahali concluded by saying that everyone should have faith in the country’s legal system.
