Thiruvananthapuram: The Minister of Food and Civil Supplies of Kerala, GR Anil, has said that instructions have been issued to halt ration mustering in the state due to technical glitches on the server. In response to the setback, the minister assured that alternate arrangements have been made for the mustering of priority ration card holders, with the possibility of extending the duration if necessary.

The e-KYC mustering for AAY (Yellow) and PHH (Pink) ration card holders commenced this morning, with special camps scheduled from today until the 17th of this month. These camps are being organized in public spaces such as Anganwadis, libraries, and cultural centers near ration shops. To facilitate e-KYC mustering, the distribution of rations has been temporarily halted, allowing mustering through e-POS machines in ration shops.

However, the mustering process came to a standstill due to the technical glitches on the server which lead to the failure of biometric authentication. The shopkeepers suggested that the issue could only be resolved by changing the current server. Consequently, the Food Minister ordered to halt the e-KYC mustering.

As a result, individuals who followed government instructions to attend the camps found themselves unable to complete the e-KYC mustering process and were forced to return home in frustration. The Minister assured that mustering will resume once technical experts’ opinions are considered and further inspections are conducted.
