Thiruvananthapuram: Union Minister and BJP’s Attingal candidate, V. Muraleedharan, accused the CPI (M) of creating controversy over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) to divert attention from monthly payment issues. He said that the state government is now in a situation where it is unable to even pay the pension of Rs. 1600. V. Muralidharan was speaking to the people as part of the Venjarammoodu election campaign.
Muraleedharan said that the state government is unable to pay a pension of Rs. 1600, and the government is spending lakhs of rupees on a legal battle against the CAA. He said that the people will realise that the money being used for the political election campaign of the Left Front comes from the taxes paid by the common people.
Muraleedharan claimed that Rs. 20,000 crore had been donated to various political parties through electoral bonds, with the BJP receiving Rs. 6000 crore and the opposition parties receiving Rs. 14,000 crore. He asked that in the name of what benefits does the corporates have donated Rs. 14, 000 crore to the oppositions.
