Shopian: The security forces successfully neutralized four more terrorists in an encounter in Pinjora area of Shopian district on Monday.
The encounter broke out in the morning.
According to latest reports two of the four terrorists belong to the Hizbul Mujahideen terror outfit who were active since 2018. They were classified as A terrorists.
The HM terrorists have been identified as Umer Dhobi and Rayees Khan.
Dhobi was an active terrorist since August 2018 and involved in the killing of 3 police personnel ar Bat gund Kapren, SHopian and multiple incidents of firing on police and security forces. 10 terrorism-related FIRs had been registered against him.
Khan was active since September 2018 and was a sympathiser of anti-national elements before transforming into a terrorist. He was involved in five FIR in cases including Army camp Mantri Bugh Shopian and army patrolling party, abduction of two civilians at Memander Shopian, killing of Special Police Officer (SPO) Khushboo Jan at Vehil Shopian and killing of a civilian.
“9 terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen have been killed in operations that were carried out yesterday and today. In the last 2 weeks, 9 big operations were carried out in which 22 terrorists have been eliminated including six top commanders,” said Jammu and Kashmir DGP, Dilbag Singh.
